The commentaries on the Specific Relief Act, one of the offsprings of Justice Nandi’s works were published long back in 2004, and meanwhile, a major amendment has been made to the Specific Relief Act, 1963. The growing developments in modern social life, infrastructure project, and policy decision are the primary considerations for the Specific Relief (Amendment) Act, 2018 which came into force on and from the 1st day of October 2018. Keeping in view of the recent amendments this edition has been revised thoroughly.

In this edition, the author has not only discussed the decisions of the Supreme Court and different High Courts but also expressed his own views whenever necessary. Issues like the power of the court to engage experts, the enforceability of contracts, the substituted performance of the contract, special provisions for contracts relating to infrastructure projects, the position of limited liability of partnership in case of amalgamation, expeditious disposal of suits, and restrictions on the power of the court to grant an injunction when it impedes or delays the progress or completion of infrastructure project are discussed at length. The case laws have been updated.
