Word ‘Defamation’ relates to the word ‘Reputation’ of an individual! Where it comes to prosecution, there are two parts viz. genuine prosecution of an individual and another is malicious, vexatious prosecution. Prosecution; be in any nature, form or kind involves one important feature of personality of an individual or juristic person i.e. “Reputation”.

Every person has his/her own ‘reputation;’ so as well have right to safe-guard his/her integrity and honor as reputation is in the form of ‘good-will’ and ‘good-will’ is a ‘property’ under the eyes of law.

Words spoken; be written or verbal does tantamount to defamation; unless true and spoken in good faith.

The idea to write a book on the subject came up when I was arguing a case of defamation and which took me in to depth of intricacies involved relating to “Law of Defamation”, and thus got me onto research on different aspects exploring about “Law of Defamation.”
